Life Beyond Physics

Here is a glimpse into my life beyond physics, along with my thanks to the people who have been part of it.

Orchestra

During my undergraduate years, I played percussion in the USTC School Orchestra (USO), including timpani, snare drum, and cymbals. From June 2025 to May 2026, I served as one of USO’s presidents alongside Bohan Zhang, a chemistry major, and Xulang Jiang, a mathematics major. My time in the orchestra gave me many happy memories.

My thanks to:

Bohan Zhang and Xulang Jiang for the time we spent leading USO together;

Ran Duan and Haozhe Ye for our friendship, both in and beyond percussion;

Yanyu Tang, Hangyu Liu, Tianze Zhu, Lihao Zhao, and Leda Wang for your trust and encouragement as I took on the role of president;

Lianyu Chen, Fengxi Li, Ran Duan, Junbo Huang, and Haozhe Ye for your help with my responsibilities;

Bohan Zhang, Ran Duan, Yize Liu, Meiyi Jiang, Haozhe Ye, Hangyu Liu, Nachuan Chen, Ruoxian Li, Denghong Luan, and many others for all the time we shared.

Badminton and Volleyball

At USTC, I made many friends through badminton and volleyball. Special thanks to Sicheng Deng, captain of the Shoujing College Badminton Team, and Fei Wu, my men’s doubles partner.

Thanks also to Qixiao Yuan, Chenghao Li, and others for our conversations about physics and badminton.

Gaming

I enjoy playing PC games such as PUBG and Valorant, with occasional rounds of CS2 and OW. Beyond shooters, I also play Minecraft and Terraria.

I have been lucky to share these games with wonderful teammates during my undergraduate years: Bohan Zhang, Yuxuan Mao, Haozhe Ye, Zihao Chen, Yize Liu, Hangyu Liu, and Jian Wang.
